Andrew was a teacher in both Middle and Primary Schools in Leeds for 13 years before becoming a freelance trainer and consultant 7 years ago. During his time as a trainer he has worked on a wide variety of projects and developed training packages for a large number of schools, colleges, universities, local authorities, CLCs and Educational companies across the UK and overseas.
He has a particular specialism in the creative use of Interactive Whiteboards to enhance teaching and learning. Teachers often comment on how his work in this area has transformed their use and understanding of this technology.
The use of Digital Media in the classroom is another area of interest. Andrew delivers training on Podcasting, Animation, Video and Still Images, these take the form both of staff training and/or workshops for children.
Andrew also delivers a package of exciting interactive maths workshops known as ‘Maths Master Classes’ which provide stimulating investigations based on the lives and work of a number of mathematicians and artists from history.
Andrew is a trainer for Espresso and Channel 4 Clipbank, Purple Mash, an Associate Trainer for RM and provides accredited training on behalf of Learning Central for the Digital Creator qualification – enabling teachers to deliver and assess this ‘GCSE in Creativity.’
He has also delivered lectures in the pedagogical use of IT for Initial Teacher Training courses at Leeds Met Carnegie University.
Andrew has worked on a number of longer term projects; developing relationships with individual schools, clusters and federations providing exemplar teaching sessions, bespoke staff training courses and training clinics for individuals or small groups.
